Beauty Review: Veil Cosmetics Sunset Skin Foundation
Sweet Sunset Kissed Skin For The Fall
When Veil Cosmetics sent me this little bottle of goodness over the summer, it was my "go to". I'm not one to compartmentalize my makeup collection. I don't think summer, spring, fall- well sometimes I won't wear a dark lip if it's 97 degrees out BUT other than that, I pretty much entangle all my favorite beauty products. This past summer, I worked summer school and I wanted my makeup to be minimal and easy. I mean, who really likes to sweat their face off? Not, I. This product came just in time to put in rotation this past summer. The thing is, I loved it so much that I'm bringing it into the fall season. When I wear Sunset Skin, it doesn't feel as if I have anything on at all. The formula is oil-free (which is amazing) but I found due to my oil prone skin, I had to set it with a light sweep of powder.
Veil Cosmetics Sunset Skin foundation comes in 12 shades and covers porcelain, light, medium and tan (including 3 ranges in each category). I'm using 3G which is medium. I always use a bit of a lighter foundation in case it oxidizes. Even though this product didn't change in color much while wearing it BUT like I mentioned before, I do have oily skin and I feel that the oily-ness can sometimes mess with the color of my foundation. The smooth dry down of the product was my favorite part. I HATE foundations that feel super greasy and wet while you're applying it. It makes my skin feel heavy but the air whipped formula really doesn't do that at all. It's a sheer to medium (but build-able) coverage. As you scroll down, you will see the makeup look I created using Sunset Skin as my base and even though you can see some imperfections on my skin, you can't see any dark spots or redness (which I have).
You can check out VeilCosmetics.com for more info on their Sunset Skin Foundation and other products they carry. I visit the Veil Cosmetics booth every year during The Makeup Show in NYC but never pick anything up. This upcoming show, I will taking a CLOSER look at their products!
Until next beauty review.......
